Union County Schools return to 2021-22 COVID Transmission plan beginning Monday, September 20.

Returning to Transmission Plan

On September 17, at 12:00 p.m. the Union County School District examined data to determine the transmission level of each school for the upcoming week of September 20-24.  After examining data ALL schools in the Union County School District met the criteria of LOW LEVEL and will be operating using mitigation measures at the LOW LEVEL. The data used to make these determinations on the mitigation measures is charted below:

The mitigation measures for all schools in the Union County district for the week of September 20-24 will be as follows:

  • All normal cleaning and sanitation measures used will be continued

  • Masks will be highly recommended but not required for all unvaccinated students/staff.  Any vaccinated students or staff or any student or staff wearing a mask will not be required to quarantine unless they become symptomatic.  Any unvaccinated student or staff member or any student or staff not wearing a mask will be required to quarantine if he or she meets the definition of exposure ( closer than 6 feet for over cumulative 15 minutes in a 24 hour period). Any unvaccinated student and staff must still quarantine due to exposure in the home.

  • Students will eat in the cafeteria unless numbers rise to the moderate level.  

  • All students will participate in scheduled breaks/recesses

  • Field trips will be permitted with principal permission

  • Masks will be recommended but not required for all unvaccinated persons during indoor after school events
